What is the Watch?/How does it work?
The Demeleier Village Watch is an entirely volunteer-based group of individuals devoted to the well-being of Demeleier and its inhabitants. Decisions made within are almost always made through thorough discussion and voting, allowing everyone participating a fair say in outcomes ICly and OOCly. It is neither governmental or combative in nature, at least not inherently -- really, the best way to think of it is as the name suggests: just like a neighborhood watch!
The Watch's existence is generally well-known among villagers. There are typically monthly meetings that are announced before they are held, taking place in an OOC format, in which members go over current concerns in the village and come to conclusions and solutions. On top of that, ICly, characters are encouraged to perform daily patrols of various areas in Demeleier and log these excursions to keep track of villager and fae activity.
Aside from that, there is no one universal goal of the Watch aside from protecting the village! What membership entails varies depending on the current needs of the community, what abilities a character possesses, and what they are comfortable with doing. You and your character's degree of involvement is entirely up to you.

As previously noted, meetings take place within an OOC post, announced both OOCly and ICly before the actual date of the meeting to give everyone time to prepare. It is held in a Watch-claimed cottage (previously the town hall) and includes food portioned out for all attending. Non-Watch members are welcomed to attend unless noted otherwise for the specific meeting.
The structure of the meeting is a toplevel post going over the meeting's agenda, followed by comments heading each point. Discussion is had under these headers as OOC comments standing in place of IC threads: I.E. instead of tagging with an action or dialogue tag, you would say something along the lines of, "[character] vocally objects to this and provides XYZ alternative". Here's a link to previous Watch posts if you're having trouble figuring it out. This is done to expedite the discussion and make sure that it all takes place within a timely manner.
When each meeting wraps up, another OOC post will go up summarizing the meeting. This is to prevent anyone being looked over simply because of the sheer volume of comments a Watch post can entail. IC proceedings will resolve themselves individually as indicated by conclusions decided within meetings.
